Mural is in the alley of the Roberto Clemente Recreation Center. This mural is a part of the Arts Alley Initiative the city started in 2025. It pays homage to the vibrant Hispanic community that is present in Southwest Detroit.

Mural is on the southern side of the Detroit People Mover Maintenance & Control Facility. This piece was done in collaboration with NASA Lifelines. The goal of the NASA Lifelines murals project is to bring attention to how satellite data can help solve humanitarian issues. This piece focuses on the air quality issues prevalent in Detroit. At the top of the piece, written in binary code (representing how all data is transferred to computers as 0s or 1s) are the words “Detroit needs clean air”. The colors behind the figure are the colors of the air quality scale. The image was drawn digitally and printed on adhesive vinyl that is attached to the wall.

Mural is located on the DTE Promenade Substation. The mural is a nod to the nearby Alkebu-Lan Village as well as to my Sudanese heritage. The mural shows a woman wearing jewelry from a traditional Sudanese wedding ceremony. Her head wrap flows into the distance resembling the sand dunes of the desert in Sudan. Behind her is a close up of a wing from an ancient Nubian headpiece. In the distance are the pyramids of Nuri in Sudan.

This goal behind this mural is to represent not letting negative circumstances get you down. The woman in this image is unbothered despite the darkness around her. The storm is coming yet her light is still shining.
