Helpless?

"People look at me like I'm incompetent and helpless. Most times people are surprised I'm in finance and working for Ford. My family is from Jamaica and taught me how to be fearless despite the odds. I've done study abroad in Costa Rica and China, a case study in South Africa, worked at the British Embassy. I want to be a consultant to help those in third world countries be self-sufficient (since many rely on tourism) much like myself."

This is my most recent work, and it denotes a refinement in the focus of my pieces. Starting with this piece, I am attempting to make work that truly encompasses the story of a person in it through usage of quotes from them. I will seek out individuals with stories to tell (the theme being misconceptions) and paint them with a quote from them being a complement to the work. My goal is to develop a diverse set of portraits consisting of people from all different ethnicities/racial backgrounds.
